#2284-Captio to Luther (a summary)

Capito fears that his earlier letters to Luther upon leaving Wittenberg were lost so he relates again what has happened regarding the Concord matter. Of the opposiiton of the Abt of Volsius and the vain attempt to alter his opinion which brings into play the intrigue of Schwenkfeld and colleagues. The reason for the delay in signing has only the Schwabishe cities with exception of Ulm agreeing. He forwards a letter from Basel regarding a convention which will be held before Michaelis. After Augsburg the Papists are boasting that the jurisdiction has been handed over to them and the Magistrates have temporarily suspended the Mass and one of the Magistrates has requested that Capito appeal to Luther not to become involved with the jurisdiction-question.
