#1833-To Wenceslaus Link in Nuernberg

"Grace and peace." My dear Wenceslaus, I request that you do not take it badly that I write so briefly. This is the way things stand: I was overwhelmed,I am overwhelmed,I will be overwhelmed so long as I shall live. Tell Osiander also that I will soon write to him as the matter moves me and is worthy because it is said there is to be war in lower Germany. Pray for me, my dear Wenceslaus. By us there appears in the west a comet ( so far as my [knowledge of]astronomy reaches) in the corner of the Tropic of Cancer with the color deepest blue (Nachtgleichen) whose tail reaches from the middle of the Tropic to the neck of the Big Dipper. It portends nothing good.May Christ guide it, Amen. The 18th of August 1531. Your Martin Luther.
NOTES: Halley's Comet before Halley predicted it is seen in the stamp above.
ML, the grammarian, likes to conjugate: I was, I am, I will be.
Not positive about "Nachtgleichen". Any helpers?
